Welcome to the TR GO for GOLD Timepieces category award feature
On behalf of the TR GO for GOLD awards team, we would like to thank you in advance of submitting your award entry for the fashion category. We fully appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating a successful awards entry, and that is why we have made the TR GO for GOLD awards value added in terms of; being able to use your entry as a marketing document, for benchmarking purposes, for recognition of excellence and best practice and of course business growth.
You probably know by now that these awards are split into product categories and there is an award 'Above and Beyond' which recognises those who work tirelessly to ensure the success of the products sold within Travel Retail.
To build industry confidence in the TR GO for GOLD awards we recruited TR industry and category experts to work with us to create our "Guides to Gold', (an invaluable document for all entries) the judging criteria and of course, actually judging the entries. It was an honour when Viola Denke agreed to join our esteemed team of experts.
All About TR Timepieces
Timepieces are an absolute eye-catcher in-store, which has made the category significantly more relevant in a Travel Retail environment. You will find this category in multi category Duty Free stores, within fashion & accessories multi-brand concepts and/or as single brand boutiques where you will discover a brand’s universe.
Timepiece collectors, buying a well-known classic and the character of gifting, make this category a perfect way to surprise the traveller through an exciting assortment, and to upsell the retailer’s basket with commercial products. This category’s price segments range from entry level to the most luxurious brands in Travel Retail.
The assortments are dominated by high seasonality and an impressive number of SKUs to meet the travellers’ demands. Buyers will be looking for Timepiece brands, which are meeting today’s trends and are highly desirable through their brand awareness and/or outstanding USPs. Travellers are open to being inspired and trying local individuality or global novelties in different channels, whether it is in airports, on cruise liners or on aeroplanes.
Timepieces collaborator & judge:
Viola is a young Entrepreneur, who has just started her own Golf Streetstyle Brand in June 2022, Volaire Athletique. She grew up in Travel Retail spending over 9 years in various positions at Gebr. Heinemann. Her experiences are focused on Buying, Category Management and Product Development for the Categories Fashion & Accessories as well as Perfume & Cosmetics. Latest she was heading up the purchasing team for fashion, before that she was developing Gebr. Heinemann's Watches and Jewelry private label/licensed brands Aviator & Bergson. With her exceptional career, covering many perspectives from Sales, Buying and Brand, we think Viola a great addition to our Judges Team.
